As a United States Marine, serving in Afghanistan, Iraq and Africa, Dave distinguished himself with his integrity, leadership and commitment. Now he is campaigning to restore honesty and responsibility to the State House.
Lucas is a dedicated community leader, who serves as his Neighborhood Council Chair, on the VA Hospital Advisory Committee, Inland NW Boy Scout Council Executive Board and NW Council National Eagle Scout Association Committee Chair.
“The Marine Corps teaches duty above self,” said Lucas. “I also learned how to work within a large bureaucracy to get results, uphold the highest ethical standards, and to be accountable for my decisions. That’s just what we need in state government.”
After earning his Eagle Scout award in 1988, he then went on to attend UC Davis, participating in the ROTC program at Berkeley, earning his commission and completing a 21-year career in the Marine Corps. Following his retirement, Dave became the Chinook Assistant District Commissioner and Pack 353 Tiger Den Leader with his older son.
Lucas and his wife, Laura, a Gonzaga University alum, have two children.
